Journalist and communications expert Sedef Kabaş has been detained due to a tweet message she sent regarding the prosecutors who decided to discontinue charges on the December 17 Corruption Probe investigation.
According to diken website, policemen arrived in early this morning to the apartment of Kabaş in Istanbul, saying that there has been a complaint against her. Kabaş’s cell phone, computer and tabloid computer have been seized.
According to Radikal newspaper, Kabaş was detained for “targeting individuals who are working on anti-terrorism”.
“Don’t forget the name of the prosecutor who discontinued charges on December 17 Corruption Probe,” she wrote on twitter.
Her twitter account has been locked since 2:45pm local time.

Kabaş’s detention stirred controversy on social media. Born in London, Kabaş graduate from Boğaziçi University. Later on, she studied Television Reporting in Boston University on Fulbright Scholarship.
