BirGün newspaper journalist Duygu Kıskanç has been detained by the police yesterday as she was reporting on the Patriot missile protests in Adana province.
The incident took place when police placed barricades on the roadmap prevent a youth organization to protest the arrival of German troops at Incirlik Air Base for NATO Patriot missile deployment.
Dozens of protestors insisted on marching towards the air base, shouting slogans like "We won't be soldiers of USA" and "USA is a killer, AKP the collaborator".
The police response has been brutal, many protestors were affected by police violence and tear gas bombs. Before her detention, BirGün newspaper journalist Duygu Kıskanç was told to report the protest.
BirGün newspaper promptly informed the detention through twitter and demanded the release of its employee. (EA)
