F.E., a private under compulsory drafting at Abalı Gendarmerie Headquarters in Diyarbakır’s Lice province, was allegedly shot dead as he was joking with another colleague.
According to Yüksekova Haber that cited from Dicle News Agency, the incidents took place yesterday afternoon as F.E. was on his patrol duty.
Following the incident, a military helicopter transferred F.E. to Diyarbakır Military Hospital. He lost his life briefly after despite all medical efforts.
Military authorities announced that a soldier whose name was undisclosed, was detained and an investigation was underway.
F.E.’s funeral has been transferred to Ankara following a ceremony in Diyarbakır Military Hospital. (EKN/BM)
