World Cities Expo İstanbul hosted by İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality will be held with the participation of pioneer institutions, organizations and countries from all over the world regarding Smart Cities, from May 15-18 2017 in Istanbul Halic Congress Center. Over 100 local and global exhibitor company and around 10.000 professional participants are expected to attend the event.
Access was blocked to Wikipedia in Turkey
Information Technologies and Communications Authority had blocked online access to Wikipedia in Turkey on April 29, 2017.
As the reason for the blockage, the authority has argued that despite several requests, certain contents indicating that Turkey had been supporting terrorist organizations were not taken off Wikipedia and therefore the whole website had to be blocked. (HK/DG)
