The Ministry of Interior has proclaimed that 337 social media accounts have been investigated and legal action has been taken against 154 people over last week.
The statement released on ministry’s official website read:
“Investigation has been launched into 337 social media accounts, which propagandize for terrorist organizations, promote those organization, incite people to enmity and hostility, insult state officials, attempting against state’s indivisible integrity and people’s safety of life, and that legal action has been taken against 154 people”.
In a statement published on the official website of the ministry on April 2, it was stated that between March 26 and April 2, legal action has been taken against 242 social media users.
The Ministry of Interior previously announced that 845 people who criticized the Afrin operation on social media and participated in critical activities had been taken into custody. (AS/TK)
