The Interior Ministry has adopted new measures on shopping and transportation to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The ministry issued a notice saying all public transport vehicles and intercity buses will be allowed to carry only half their capacity while. Passengers will sit at a certain distance from one another.
All grocery stores will only provide service between 09:00 and 21:00 local time. Only a certain number of people will be allowed to shop at one time, depending on the size of the store. Stores will hang banners that show how many people are allowed inside.
The Interior Ministry previously shut many public places such as cafes, bars, and theaters, and imposed a curfew for people over 65 years of age.
According to the latest official figures, Turkey has 1,529 confirmed coronavirus cases and the death toll stands at 37. (TP/VK)
