Burhan Karatay, who was arrested in the Giresun Type E Closed Prison, has lost his life.
Speaking to Mezopotamya Agency (MA) about the death of his father, İsmail Karatay has stated that their all applications for the release of his father from prison due to his illnesses were rejected.
The next hearing of Karatay was going to be held on November 17, 2018.

The Human Rights Association (IHD) Prisons Commission has announced that there are 1,154 ill prisoners in prisons across Turkey, 402 of whom are in serious condition.
On August 27, 2018, it was announced that ill prisoner Koçer Özdal lost his life in intensive care in Ankara Numune Hospital.
He had to have an angiography
As reported by the Mezopotamya Agency, Burhan Karatay, who had been arrested for 3 years and 10 months, was suffering from various diseases including a heart condition.
It has also been reported that Karatay lost his life after a heart attack.
İsmail Karatay has also stated that his father called him five months ago and said that he had to have an angiography operation, which was not allowed by the prison administration. 67-year-old Karatay was also suffering from hypertension and had an angiography for four times before.
Having been arrested for multiple times, Karatay was previously a member of the municipal council in Doğubayazıt in Turkey's eastern province of Ağrı.
Karatay's deceased body will be put to rest in Doğubayazıt. (AS/SD)
