Güner: Probably a woman
Umut Güner, project coordinator of the Gay and Lesbian Cultural Studies and Solidarity Association (KAOS GL), says that international delegations often ask how many homosexual MPs there are or how many MPs support rights for homosexuals.
Güner says that although he knows that there will be no "outed" homosexual MPs in the next parliament, he would like to see MPs supporting their struggle. He is thinking of supporting a woman candidate.
Kırancı: Will support DTP
Ebru Kiranci of Lamdaistanbul, an association for homosexuals, bisexuals and transgendered people, used to be a member of the pro-Kurdish HADEP, which is now closed. She had planned to stand as a member for the new pro-Kurdish Democratic Society Party (DTP), but was too late. The DTP will get her vote because it considers the rights of homosexuals.
Sulu: Will not vote
Baris Sulu, also of Lambdaistanbul, is not planning to vote, because he knows that the leftist parties he supports will not make the 10% threshold.
Öz: Need for honesty
Yasemin Öz of Kaos GL says that there are people in parliament who cannot openly acknowledge their homosexual identity. She says that she will support anyone who opposes discrimination, not only against homosexuals, but against anyone.
Cakir: Vote for Independents
Bawer Cakir of Lamdaistanbul is planning to vote for an independent candidate because he hopes that such a candidate would think more freely. (AÖ/EÜ/AG/EÜ)
