A group of students from Denmark's Naestved Gymnasium and HS high school visited bianet during their trip to Turkey.
Curious about the political, religious and cultural life in Turkey, the group was escorted by Lektor Per Norholut Rasmussen, a political science subject teacher from Denmark.
While bianet's Project Advisor Nadire Mater made a presentation introducing their work, students said they already followed bianet through its English website.
Following Mater's presentation, discussions emphasized on bianet's women-focused journalism and women's situation in Denmark and Turkey.
Borgen, a famous TV show in Denmark telling the challenges of a female prime minister, was among what students and bianet staff talked about.
The discussions also swirled around freedom of expression and Hasan Cemal, a prominent columnist in Turkey who resigned from Milliyet newspaper after the administration rejected its latest article.
The group also learned from bianet that a deputy from Denmark would be among the two million people who were expected to show at March 21 celebrations in Diyarbakır province.
The group will visit AKP headquarters today. (EA/BM)
