The members of the High School Young Hope organization, who were released yesterday (November 17) at 15:00, said that they were threatened by the police officers.
The high school students told sendika.org that they were taken into custody because of the press release they had held against the governor. Although no action was taken regarding the press release itself, they were threatened constantly and told to know their place by the police officers.
The members of the Young Hope said that they were put in a special room by the Anti-Terro Unit members and warned by Arif Akkale who was assigned from the Trabzon Police Department to the Adana Police Department.
Although the governor could see the point in the slogan “we refuse paid education”, according to the young student, he could not understand the purpose of the slogan “we refuse cooperation with the police and the administration”.
The students also told that they were invited to a soccer game by Akkale, but refused it since they would only play with their friends.
The high school students are planning to hold a press release about the bad treatment they experienced.
The eight students who are members of the High School Young Hope organization were taken into custody for protesting Adana Governor İlhan Atış for his threats against the families of the children who participate in the activities against the state. The governor had threatened the families with canceling their green cards that enable them to receive inexpensive medical treatment. (BÇ/TB)
