Health Minister Fahrettin Koca has shared a map showing the number of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases per 100 thousand people by provinces over the past week from February 15 to 21.
According to Koca's social media message, the weekly number of cases per 100 thousand people did not see a significant increase in three major cities in Turkey. While 68.23 cases were diagnosed per 100 thousand in İstanbul, this number was 35.29 in Ankara and 42.67 in İzmir.
Increase in the Black Sea provinces
The map has also shown that there was an increase in the number of cases in the Black Sea region when compared to its population.
Accordingly, the provinces of Ordu, Sakarya, Samsun, Balıkesir and Burdur witnessed an increase in the number of cases while Trabzon, Giresun and Gümüşhane in the Black Sea region saw a change for the better. In the previous map, against shared by Fahrettin Koca, all five provinces with the highest number of weekly cases were in this region.

Koca: We must observe the measures more
In his Twitter message, Health Minister Koca has said, "There has been a marked increase in some of our provinces in terms of their number of cases per 100 thousand people in a week. These days when we are talking about normalization, we must observe the measures more for one another so that we can return to normal life more quickly." (TP/SD)
