Turkey has managed to slow down Covid-19 pandemic after an increase in new cases last month, according to Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca.
"Thanks to the strict control of the measures countrywide and our quick interventions, we have slowed down the pace of the outbreak," he told a press conference at the Governor's Office of the southern Adana province.
"In some provinces, we saw increases that we don't want to see, we urgently intervened in these regions. In some other provinces and regions, we didn't have problems thanks to strong measures and the sensitivity of our people," said Koca.
"Throughout the country, we see that the number of cases and the workload of our healthcare organizations are gradually decreasing. However, this good trend should never make us complacent," he further remarked.
"Our target is to decrease the number of patients and the hospital load every day with the measures we will take. I underline this in every opportunity: The early we isolate the contacts, the successful we are at outbreak management.
"Turkey is one of the best countries in the world in contact tracing. We have deployed this force in Adana as well. Nowadays, we see the effect of this.
"Here, I want to remind all of our citizens once again that the neglected measures cause suffering for all of us. Every compromise from hygiene, masks and distancing causes new patients." (AS/VK)
