Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Diyarbakır MP and HDP Vice Co-Chair Garo Paylan has criticized Minister of Treasury and Finance Nureddin Nebati and his speech to the foreign real estate investors in France.
In his speech addressing the investors in France, Finance Minister Nebati briefly said, "You have a problem? Just relax. You can reach us easily. One of my favorite things is dealing with the bureaucracy and legislation which make life difficult for investors ... Let's fight it together ... We will tear down the bureaucracy. Chill, we have the President behind us ... We will change the legislation, too. With the Presidential system, we can act quickly."
Referring to these remarks, HDP MP Paylan has said, "If one person thinks of coming [to Turkey], s/he will turn away and leave".
Underlining that investors trust the law, not people, in the civilized world, Garo Paylan has addressed President and ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and called on him "to not send Nebati anywhere outside Edirne", which marks Turkey's northwestern border. Paylan has said, "He (Nebati) is humiliating us".
Arguing that the new economic model of the government has no chance of success, Garo Paylan has briefly added:
"It is dragging Turkey down and down into the abyss day by day. Leave this path immediately. At least until the elections, let the ones with some knowledge about it come into office. Mr. Erdoğan says, 'I wrote the book on economy'. But he does not know anything about it. Mr. Nebati is ignorant of economics. Central Bank Governor Kavcıoğlu is ignorant of economics".
