Gathering for Peace has been organized jointly by Leros-Kalymnos-Astypalaia Metropolitan, Leros Municipality, Defne-Dafni Turkish Greek Association, Leros Artemis Dance Shool. There will be dance shows, exhibitions, Rebetiko concerts and documentary screenings in the program.
It will take start with folk dances performance
The program will start with the show of Canada Dance Association Kyklos-Folk Dances Band at Platanos Square at 8 p.m. today (July 13).
On July 14, opening of “İmroz-Karşı Bellek” photography exhibition will be held at Alinda Metropolitan building at 8 p.m. Kalimnos-Leros-Astipalias Metropolitan Paisios Region Governor Hacimarkos, Mayor Kolias and Defne Association Chair, retired ambassador Yalım Eralp will deliver speeches in the opening. Musician Stelios Berberis will present a mini concert after the opening.
On July 15, İmroz part of documentary “Yanyana” directed by Eniz Rıza Sakızlı and Mesut Tufan will be screened at Platanos Square. Interviews with Rums, Jews, Armenians and Assyrians from five different regions of Turkey, and oral narratives take place in the documentary.
The invitations have been published in English, Italian, French, Turkish and Greek. (HA/TK)
