Minister of Foreign Affairs of France Jean-Yves Le Drian has spoken in an interview with France-based television channel BFM about Turkey and Iran's presence in Syria.
Naming Turkey and Iran as countries "violating international law through their actions in Syria," Le Drian added that Ankara "should not add war to war."
"The Afrin operation should be condemned"
International law "is being violated by Turkey, by the Damascus regime, by Iran and those who are attacking eastern Ghouta and Idlib," France's foreign minister stated.
Concerning Turkey's offensive in northern Syria against YPG, which it deems a terrorist organization, Le Drian asserted that "Ensuring the security of its borders does not mean killing civilians and that should be condemned."
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden cancels Turkey visit
Swedish Radio (SR) announced that Minister of Foreign Affairs Margot Wallström's Turkey visit in two weeks later had been postponed indefinitely.
The Swedish Radio asserted that this decision might come as a stand against Operation Olive Branch, while no official statement was made by the Ministry.
Wallström was scheduled to meet with Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during her visit. (PT/PU)
