The investigation into the armed attack on the Republican People's Party (CHP) İstanbul office in Seyrantepe is continuing.
Four people were taken into custody in the scope of the investigation and sent to the court after the procedures at the police headquarters.
İstanbul Governorship announced that four were taken into custody in relation to the event.
The announcement said, "Gunshots were made from a vehicle moving in the Edirne direction on the TEM autobahn on April 6, 2023, Thursday around 04:00 am. around the CHP İstanbul office. The camera shootings have been examined shot by the Licence Plate Recognition System cameras and it was found that the vehicle with license plate 34 VLE ... was registered for a person named A.P."
The governorship announced that the suspects told that "E.D. fired the gun into the air from the moving vehicle in order to share the video on social media."
Fugitive with 51 criminal records is wanted
Suspects Arif P. (26), Berkan Ö. (22), Anıl Ö. (20), and Ferhat E. (23) were taken into custody.
In their statement, they said that Emre D. (23) started a live broadcast from his social media account on his mobile phone, took out the gun he had, and made 6-7 gunshots from the window of the car. The suspects argued that they did not do anything aiming at the CHP İstanbul office.
The suspect Arif P. has criminal records for 26 crimes, Berkan Ö for 13 crimes, and Ferhat E. for 16 crimes.
Emre D. who has criminal records for 51 crimes is wanted. (AS/PE)
