The winners of the 20th Flying Broom (Uçan Süpürge) International Women's Films Festival have been announced.
The Flying Broom Honorary Award went to the actress Perran Kutman and the Theme Award went to writer Aslı Erdoğan.
Bilge Olgaç Achievement Award went to the documentary movie maker Emel Çelebi who is the founder and the programmer of the Documentarist İstanbul Documentary Days and Which Human Rights Film Festival.
In order to encourage young actresses, support them on their path and draw attention to their productions on this field as well as encourage writers to create stronger and more positive women roles for cinema in Turkey, the Flying Broom Young Witch Award went to Ecem Uzun.
The awards will be handed over at a prize ceremony to be held in Ankara State Opera and Ballet House on May 23.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Cinema General Directorate, Republic of Turkey Prime Ministry Promotion Fund, Çankaya Municipality, Open Society Foundation, European Union Turkey Delegation, Ankara University Communicator's Foundation (İLEV) and Sheraton Otel are among the supporters of the festival.
The 20th Flying Broom International Women's Films Festival will take place in 20 provinces this year. (ÇT/DG)
