Explosion in a House in Reyhanlı

An explosion has occurred in a house in Reyhanlı district of Hatay province. According to the information obtained from local sources, two injured persons have been taken out of the house after the explosion which has occurred in Kurtulus neighbourhood in the center of the district at around 4.30 yesterday (July 6).

Statement from the Governirship

Hatay Governorship in its statement concerning the incident has announced that the two Syrian citizens who got injured while producing the explosives have been taken to MKÜ Faculty of Medicine Research Hospital. A gun an a silence has been seized. 

Bomb attacks had started in Reyhanlı

In Reyhanlı district of Hatay, two vehicles had been detonated on May 11, 2013 killing 52 and leaving 155 injured. This has been the beginning of the upsurge in the bomb attacks targetting civilians. Subsequently, bomb attacks had been carried out in Diyarbakir (June 5, 2015), Urfa Suruç (July 20, 2015), Ankara Peace Rally (October 10, 2015), İstanbul Sultanahmet (January 12, 2016), Diyarbakır Çınar Security Directorate and  Housings (January 14, 2016), Ankara General Staff shuttles (17 February 2016), İstanbul İstiklal Street (March 19, 2016), Ankara Güvenpark (March 13 2016).
