Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Honorary Chair Ertuğrul Kürkçü will be entitled Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) “honorary membership” by PACE President Liliane Maury-Pasquier today (October 8).
Kürkçü took place in the PACE Turkey delegation as Peace and Democracy Party (BDP MP from 2011-2013, and HDP MP from 2015-2018 and carried out his work at the PACE by taking place in United European Left (UEL). In addition to serving as PACE Social Works, Health and Sustainable Development Committee Deputy Chair, Kürkçü took on task of speakership for the UEL at the General Assembly discussions.
As Kürkçü’s membership in the PACE ends with his 26th term deputyship, PACE Presidency decided to give him “Honorary Membership” upon suggestion of the UEL.
The “Honorary Membership” ceremony will be organized at 7:15 p.m. local time in PACE building in Strasbourg, France today. (ÇT/TK)
