Members of the People's Democratic Party (HDP) and People's Democratic Congress (HDK) were arrested for "membership in a terrorist organization" and "propagandizing for a terrorist organization" as part of an investigation launched by the Tekirdağ Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, reported by Mezopotamya News Agency.
Several politicians, including party executives, were detained on June 3 as part of an operation in 10 provinces against the HDP and HDK.
Tekirdağ Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had ordered the detention of 42 people including the co-chairs of İstanbul, Bingöl, and Edirne.
The politicians were taken to the Tekirdağ Courthouse for their statements to be completed at the prosecutor's office. They were accused of being associated with the "Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK)" due to their political activities. Kurdish politicians were referred to the Penal Court of Peace on charges of "membership in a terrorist organization" and "propagandizing for a terrorist organization".
The proceedings of 13 of 36 politicians detained have been completed, eight of them were arrested. The names of the eight politicians who were arrested are: Seyit Soydan, Sadi Özdemir, Murat Mutlu, Hüseyin Güzel, Ömer Güven, Emin Şen, Saadet Fırat and Emin Orhan.
Additional detention was issued for the politicians on June 6. The confidentiality order in the file still continues.

92 percent disabled
While Abdurrahman Öztürk, Tuncer Rençber, Muzaffer Cebek, and Adnan Çavaş, who were interrogated at the prosecutors' office were released on probation; the fate of İlyas Karaçayır, whose statement was taken is still unknown.
Sadi Özdemir one of the politicians who was arrested is 92 percent disabled and connected to an oxygen cylinder. (TY/TB)
