Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK) Co-Spokesperson Sebahat Tuncel was detained at Atatürk Airport where she was present to go abroad. She has been released on judicial control decision after her testimony was heard by court. In the statement lawyer Adem Çalışçı made to bianet, Çalışçı said Tuncel was taken into custody within the scope of investigation started over accusations of "organization membership" and "praising crime and criminal".
The investigation is about Tuncel's speeches in 2010 and 2013.
Prosecution: There is absconding suspicion
Tuncel testifying to prosecution after being detained was issued to Vacation Court for "absconding suspicion".
The court has imposed a ban on leaving the country by taking into consideration of "propagandizing organization" accusation in addition to "strong criminal suspicion and current evidence".
Six different probes have been launched against Tuncel by Anatolia Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Sebahat Tuncel is a former Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MP who performed deputyship duty in 23rd and 24th terms of parliament. (AS/TK)
