Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) co-chairperson Selahattin Demirtaş said they would do their best not to allow the Homeland Security Act and they would keep resisting.
Speaking in the 2nd Mediterranean Conference of Party of the European Left, Demirtaş drew attention to the government’s misleading of people about the homeland security act and he said “If you are sincere with synthetic cannabinoid and Molotov cocktail, come and confine the act with two articles and we launch the act but your aim is different. You keep your palace and sultanate. You have no need of democratizing the state.”
According to the news of Fırat News Agency (ANF), Demirtaş said with reference to the common statement to be made of Justice and Development Party (AKP) and HDP “This statement would be a mutual call including the steps for democratization and freedom. We keep discussing this. The reason behind not making this common statement is the manipulative approach of the government and pro-government people. Explanations like ‘PKK ceases fire and gives up on March’ postponed this common statement. These behaviors of the government in the time of withdrawal, made the withdrawal stop. The government approaches the process like an opportunist.” (EKN/BD)
