The Ministry of National Defense announced that the delivery of the first group of S-400 Long-Range Air Defense and Missile Defense System was completed today (July 25). Russia started the delivery on July 12.
While the relations between Turkey and the US are still tense due to the S-400 crisis and they are still negotiating on a safe zone in Syria, the Ministry of National Defense has announced that the first group of S-400 defense missile system components has been delivered to Turkey.
Releasing a statement for the press, the Ministry has also indicated that the delivery of the first components has been completed in 30 sorties, which will be followed by the delivery of the second group.
Regarding Turkey's possible purchase of Patriots, which are proposed by the US as alternatives for the S-400 system, the Ministry has stated that "the negotiations are still continuing."

'Negotiations on safe zone continue'
Indicating Turkey is still working on its air defense, the Ministry of Defense has announced that SAMP-T battery will be placed by France on the southern and eastern border of Turkey.
"The partnership of our country in F-35 program has been suspended. There is no document clearly indicating that it has been cancelled or Turkey has been removed from the program", the Ministry has indicated further.
Concluding the statement, the Ministry has also announced that Turkey and the US are still negotiating on a possible safe zone in Syria, adding that Turkey's expectations, especially in Manbij, have not been met. (RT/EKN/SD)
