Curious Attack on Radio Transmission Cables
Radio stations' broadcast was interrupted for two days and transmission equipment have been damaged.
Local gendarmerie has begun an investigation into the incident.
Southeastern Anatolian Region (GAP) Journalists' Association chair Zeynel Abidin Kıymaz visited the public prosecutor's office yesterday to gather information about the investigation.
He expressed hopes that the offenders would be brought to justice as soon as possible.
On the other hand, responsibles of the four radio stations condemned the lack of any reaction from the NGO's and officials in the region.
Saying that they already work under hard conditions, radio journalists claimed that they have been left alone faced with an attack. There are only six radio stations in the city.(EÖ/EÜ)
