The confiscated money of Corruption Probe has been returned to suspects Barış Güler and Reza Zarrab.
The return order has been made after the court issued a nolle prosequi on the investigation.
The amount was a combination of 400,000 liras, 320,000 euros and 90,000 dollars. The interest was calculated as 20,000 liras.
Again, Reza Zarrab’s confiscated 1,000,000 liras, 800,000 euros, 2 kilograms of gold have been returned to him along with a 55,000 lira interest even though he previously declared that he donated all to Turkey’s Red Crescent organization.
Within the Corruption Probe, 14 have arrested including Interior Minister Muammer Güler’s son Barış Güler and businessman Reza Zarrab on December 21.
On February 28, 5 have been released including Barış Güler and Rıza Sarraf.
On October 17, on the other hand, the investigation has been discontinued.
Yesterday, the parliamentary commission on the investigation of 4 former ministers regarding Corruption Probe claims have postponed the decision to put the ministers on trial by Parliamentary Supreme Board (Yüce Divan) to January 5. (NV/BM)
