Heinrich Böll Stiftung Turkey branch will be organizing a conference on facing up to the realities of the history in conflict torn regions.
Titled "Facing the Past", the international conference will bring together academics, activists and experts working on the field between February 24-25.
Alex Boraine from International Center for Transitional Justice, South Africa; Monika Borgmann from UMAM, Beyrout/Lebanon and Paz Rojas from CODEPU, Chili are among the international participants.
The two-day gathering aims at sharing experiences on resolving internal and historical conflicts within such countries, taking in hand especially the incidents that developed following the fall of the Soviet Union.
Organizers point that Turkey can benefit from such experiences while facing with its own past.
The first day of the conference is allocated to theoretical approaches on the issue while the following day will witness sharing experiences on international level and a forum on Turkey's situation.(NZ/EÜ)
