Republican People's Party (CHP) İstanbul MP Mahmut Tanal has held a press statement in the Parliament with his Beagle dog, Dora.
It was alleged that (Justice and Development Party) AKP Trabzon MP Muhammed Balta was bitten by some CHP MPs during Constitutional Amendment talks in the parliament on January 11.
Following that, AKP İstanbul MP Mihrimah Belma Satır and Antalya MP Gökçen Özdoğan held the banner reading "Warning! No Dogs Allowed" in yesterday's (January 12) session of the talks.
CHP Party Assembly Member and forensic medicine expert Canan Kaftancıoğlu had remarked, that the bite mentioned by AKP MP Balta was an older bite from the past.
"Animal rights violation"
Pointing to the "No Dogs Allowed" banners, CHP MP Tanal in his press statement held in the Parliament said;
"Loving animals is very important. You can't consider loving plants, animals and human as separate. One who doesn't love animals also doesn't love humans."
Mahmut Tanal added that the "No Dogs Allowed" banners in the Parliament were also violations of animal rights and that he as an animal lover condemned such a mindset. (EKN/DG)
