Yoğurtçu Women’s Forum (YKF) has made a call for silent protest in front of Yves Rocher (it owns 51 percent share of Flormar) and Flormar in Kadıköy, İstanbul in support of Flormar workers.
In its statement where the YKF stressed that 120 Flormar workers were fired for unionizing and have been resisting since May in front of the factory, YKF said:
Boycott will continue until reinstatement
“Flormar is trying to sell its products to us by marketing women’s power with the slogan ‘We can do it if we want’, but on the other hand, it makes women work in low wages and fire them when they unionize.
“We as women continue our boycott until the workers, who were fired for exercising their union rights, are reinstated to their jobs. We are not buying products of Yves Rocher and Flormar.
“In addition to this, we are staging our silent protest for 15 minutes each in front of Yves Rocher and Flormar shops in Kadıköy at 7:30 p.m. on July 3, Tuesday on the 50th day of the resistance. We are rallying in front of Bahariye Yves Rocher”. (PT/TK)
