Improvised explosive device planted earlier on the Şemdinli - Yüksekova road has been detonated by Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) members while armoured military vehicle departing from Şemdinli district of Hakkari heading towards Yüksekova district was driving by Kaymakamlık Çeşmesi region 2 km away from Yüksekova district.
According to the initial reports, three soldiers have been injured in the attack. The soldiers have been delivered to Şemdinli State Hospital for treatment.
Attack on police station yesterday
Also an attack was carried out yesterday (June 14) in Derecik town of Şemdinli district on a Border Troops Command and a police station following which a clash lasting two and a half hours had erupted upon response of soldiers. (EKN/DG)
