A bomb attack was launched on the Elazığ Security Directorate this morning (August 18).
Elazığ Governor Murat Zorluoğlu, carrying out inspection at the scene, in his statement he issued at 11:15 a.m. announced that three police officers lost their lives and 146 people, including civilians, were injured in the attack, of whom 14 are in critical condition.
The attack was carried out on the security directorate located on the Çayda Çıra intersection in Sarsürü neighborhood in Malatya province at 9:20 a.m.
According to the Doğan News Agency’s report, Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) members detonated the bomb at the parking area close to the four-decker security directorate building six kilometers away from the city center.
The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) has imposed gag order on the reports of the attack.
