Contemporary Journalists Association awarded bianet with its Best Internet Website Award for bianet's "long-lasting features and coverage on Turkey's media".
On Saturday a ceremony held in Vedat Dalokay Hall of Cankaya Municipality, Ankara brought together Turkey's prominent journalists and intellectuals. The ceremony was also attended by politicians including Veli Ağbaba (CHP deputy), Bülent Tanık (Çankaya district mayor) ve Fethi Yaşar (Yenimahalle district mayor).
Addressing to the ceremony crowd, CJA chair associate Gökhan Bulut paid tribute to Turkey's jailed journalists and said the only way to struggle is through resistance.
