An attack targeting the civilian service vehicle of a road construction company claimed the lives of two workers and injured eight others in Turkey's eastern Van province yesterday (June 8).
As reported by the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA), the Governor's Office of Van has released a statement and announced that the attack was carried out by the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) with an improvised explosive device.
The wounded workers have been referred to the Van Regional Training and Research Hospital in helicopters, the Governor's Office has further stated.
Another attack claimed two lives in May
Most recently in the province, an armed attack was also carried out against a vehicle with long barreled weapons in the district of Özalp on May 14.
While the attack targeted the Vefa Social Support Group bringing food aid to the quarantined Eğribilen Neighborhood, two people lost their lives and one person was injured in the incident. (EKN/SD)
