Hand grenade has been thrown at police point at courthouse entrance in Turkey’s eastern province of Dersim. The attacker heading towards the courthouse after throwing the grenade has been killed.
The Governorship has announced that the attack was launched by the Revolutionary People's Liberation Party–Front (DHKP/C) member Onur Polat, and Polat was killed.
He threw grenade, then opened fire with automatic weapon
The incident took place at around 8:40 a.m. at the police point between the Governorship and the courthouse. The attacker throwing hand grenade opened fire with automatic weapon.
Fırat News Agency reported that there are two attackers in the incident, and one of them ran away.
Doğan News Agency stated that an operation has been launched in the area to catch the attacker who ran away. (AS/TK)
