The General Staff has declared that artillery fire was commenced on Azaz region in Syria.
According to the information provided by the General Staff, the Turkish Armed Forces returned fire against harassment fire launched with Doshka weapon from Azaz last night (June 27).
Afrin/Azaz region in Syria is controlled by the PYD/YPG.
The Doğan News Agency reported that there were no damages or casualties in the fire commenced from Azaz.
Monitoring Center in Afrin
It was announced that Russia would set up a base in Afrin and it would provide military training to YPG soldiers in accordance with an agreement reached between the YPG and Russia in March 2017.
However, Russia declared that it wouldn’t set up a base but monitoring center. (YY/TK)
