The Executive Board of Ankara Medical Chamber released a statement about the incidence of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) among healthcare workers in the capital city of Ankara yesterday (September 2).
According to this statement, the number of health workers who have tested positive for the virus in the city so far has increased to 693. The statement has also indicated that two physicians, one dentist and one health worker have lost their lives due to COVID-19 in the city.
As of September 2, the number of COVID-19 (+) healthcare workers and their distribution by their positions have been announced as follows:
- Specialist physician – 106
- Nurse/Midwife – 106
- Cleaning worker – 84
- Assistant – 60
- Emergency medical technician/Health clerk – 37
- Medical secretary – 35
- Family physician – 30
- Security personnel – 10
- Kitchen worker – 7
- Pharmacist – 7
- Administrative personnel – 6
- Dentist – 5
- Labortarian – 5
- X-ray technician – 5
- Anaesthetist – 3
- Physiotherapist/Dietician – 3
- Workplace doctor – 2
- Paymaster – 1
