Third team has taken over the hunger strike started by three Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) MPs for transfer of wounded and bodies stuck in a basement in Cizre.
Diyarbakır MP Feleknas Uca, İzmir MP Müslüm Doğan, and Van MP Bedia Özgökçe Ertan have taken over the hunger strike.
In the statement made by HDP Assembly Group Administration, it has been reminded that it is the 13th day of making bodies and wounded wait for aid, ninth day of hunger strike and sixth day of not receiving information from those stuck in the basement.
HDP reminding government’s responsibility in retrieving bodies and wounded to be rushed to hospital has declared that they will sustain their democratic reactions till a result is obtained.
Following unfruitful talks with Ministry of Interior, HDP Group Deputy Chairperson İdris Baluken, Adana MP Meral Danış Beştaş, and Urfa MP Osman Baydemir started a hunger strike in the ministry on January 27. Group Deputy Chairperson Çağlar Demirel, Muş MP Ahmet Yıldırım and Hakkari MP Nihat Akdoğan took over the hunger strike on February 1. (BK/TK)
