AKP and MHP apply together for Erdoğan's candidacy

The Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) jointly applied to the Supreme Election Council for Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's presidential candidacy in the May 14 elections.
The application was made today (March 21) by AKP Group President İsmet Yılmaz, MHP Group Vice-President Erkan Akçay, AKP Vice-President Ali İhsan Yavuz, and MHP Vice-President Feti Yıldız.
AKP and MHP parliamentary groups had taken decisions to nominate Erdoğan as their presidential candidate separately in the group meetings they held on March 16. (ME/PE)
