Güneş daily has reported in the headlines today (July 14) that Sabri Başkale has been killed as “Squad of Leaders Being Annihilated One By One” with the title “We Hit The Şarlatan in His Cave”. According to Güneş daily “PKK whose leaders are being annihilated one by one recently has been shocked”
State-run Anadolu Agency (AA) has reported that Başkale has been critically wounded. AA has reported on its website with the title “Another strike on PKK” that “,Sabri Başkale code named terrorist Fethi Şarlatan, so-called HPG- authority in charge of the northern region has been critically wounded upon an operation launched at Metina region”.
The claim of Başkale being killed has been based on the following arguments:
“The fact that the ‘Charlatan’, being constantly moved to different hospitals by the members of the separatist terror organisation due to his critical health status, has not got out of the last hospital he was taken to, increases the presumption of him being killed.
Bahoz is not among the leader casualties
AA has mentioned those who have been killed in the upper squad of PKK, but did not pronounce the name of Bahoz Erdal, whom they had mentioned earlier on their report on July 10 as killed
* “An operation has been launched this year (2016) against Ekrem Güney the person in charge after Charlatan, so-called authority in charge of the main region and his assistant. They have been killed in this operation.”
* “İn the operation that lasts 4 days, so-called authority in charge of Tunceli province, İsmail Aydemir (43) code named “Baran Dersim” has been neutralized on September 16, 2015 Ovacık, Tunceli.”
The claims about Bahoz Erdal getting killed
State-run Anadolu Agency (AA) had reported that Fehman Hüseyin, an authority person in charge within PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party) with the code name “Bahoz Erdal” had been killed in Syria last Saturday (July 9). Yet the People’s Defence Forces (HPG) had denied the claims.
In its report based on the statement of Halid el Hasekavi; the Spokesperson of Tel Hamis Brigade fighting against the regime in Syria; AA has announced that the Vehicle of Fehman Hüseyin blown up on July 9 and Hüseyin had thus been killed.
Yet soon after that, Med Nuçe TV holding a statement from HPG Press and Communication Center (HPG BİM) has reported that the claims that Bahoz Erdal had been killed were groundless and Erdal was still on duty.
On the other hand, Vice Prime Minister Veysi Kaynak during his visit in Elbistan had noted “ This evening, our nation will receive a present for the feast. We have received the news that, one of PKK’s most important actors, the most cruel and villain one; Bahoz Erdal has been killed in Syria thanks to God”.
Following this, Denge Kurdistan radio has published the statement made by Bahoz Erdal about the claims of him getting killed in Syria.
In the statement, “Bahoz Erdal” code named Fehman Hüseyin has said that the reports about him getting killed do not reflect the reality and noted “The reports that the Turkish media and government have published are not true. It is a method of a special war. [...] They want to change the agenda. [...] They do not want Daesh (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) to be defeated. [...] AKP (Justice and Development Party) considers its own existence in Daesh’s existence. They are using the Turkish media to propagate for this special war. (HK/UA)
