Upon the ban of Governorate for May Day celebrations on Taksim, the Metropolitan Municipality announced that the metro and funicular services to Taksim will be cancelled.
Also, in various districts there will be planned power cuts.
No Metro Services to Taksim Station
Hanged on the metro stations, the announcement of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality stated that the metro and funicular services to Taksim station will be cancelled “until further notice”.
“On 1st of May, the metro services will be available only between Levent-Hacıosman stations.
“Until further notice, the metro services between Levent-Yenikapı and the funicular services between Kabataş-Taksim will not be available.”
IETT announced that the Saturday’s transportation schedule will be applied due to the bank holiday on May Day.
Planned Power Cuts
In addition, BEDAŞ electricity company announced that no electricity will be supplied to the several areas of Fatih, Küçükçekmece, Eyüp, Esenyurt and Şişli districts on 1st of May due to “maintenance and repair works” and “improvement works”.
Certain areas in which no electricity is supplied on 1st of May:
* Fatih district: in Cerrahpaşa Kocamustafapaşa neighboordhood; Koca Mustafapaşa, Kuva-yi Milliye Caddeleri ile Şehit Turan Topal, Berber Şefik, Emirler Çeşmesi, Kader, İzci Türk, Şırlayan, Cambaziye Mektebi streets and around.
* Eyüp district: in Defterdar neighboorhood; Fıçıcılar Sokak and Samancılar, Otakçılar, Eyüp Bulvarı Avenue and around,
** Fatih district: in Süleymaniye neighborhood; Tesbihçi, Ağızlıkçı, Mangalcı, Şahande streets İsmetiye Avenue and around,
* Fatih district: in Mevlanakapı neighborhood; Mevlana, Küçük Saray, Yayla Avenue and Hasırcı Melek, Necef, Asmalı Aktar, Katip Murta Camii, Çorlulu Alipaşa, Masar Efendi, Kaşıkçı Mektebi, Şeyh Celal streets and around,
* Küçükçekmece district: in Kartaltepe neighborhood; Özbey, Dilek, Hisar, Tezcan, Değer, Ayla, Yalçın, Karadeniz, Şirin, Güler streets and Köyümkent Blocks,
* Şişli district: in 19 Mayıs neighborhood; 19 Mayıs Avenue and Şeker, Yaşar Doğu, Mumcu,Al Karanfil, Dr.Hüsnü İsmet Öztürk, Hamit Kaplan streets,
