9 HDP Executives Including İstanbul Co-Chairs Arrested

Nine Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) executives including the party’s İstanbul Provincial Co-Chairs Aysel Güzel and Doğan Erbaş have been arrested.

Güzel, Erbaş and HDP executives were detained as part of an investigation launched by İstanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office Terror and Organized Crime Bureau on December 12.

Following a 25-day detention, provincial executives Ali İpekli, Ramazan Çetinçakmak, Tayyip Arslan, Ayşe Karadağ, Feremez Erkan, Muhittin Aslanboğa and Süleyman Özcan alongside with Güzel and Erbaş were arrested.

Nasır Tonguç and Ferit Yalçın were sentenced to home confinement. (BK/TK)
