According to the CNNTürk's news based on the data prepared by the MEB, 109.810 students registered to the newly-opened imam-hatip schools by last week.
However, there are also some imam-hatip schools totally left empty. No one registered to 73 independent imam-hatip schools, three of which are located in İstanbul.
The ones in İstanbul which have as of now no registered students are Yunus Emre, Nihat Sami Banarlı and Mimar Sinan İmam-Hatip schools.
Three students registered to the Dikilitaş Mehmetçik İmam-Hatip school opened in Beşiktaş, four students registered to the Kamiloba Beyazlar İmam-Hatip Middleschool in Büyükçekmece and seven students registered to the Balaban İmam-Hatip Middle school in Silivri.
By last week, a total of 109.810 students registered to the imam-hatip schools opened after the regulation publicly known as 4+4+4.
It is not yet certain that those schools to which no student registered would be closed down or not. (YY)
