The Izmir Bar's Torture Prevention Group, in a statement, said the following data were based on applications made from February 2002 to April 22, 2004.
Out of those 497 people who applied to the Torture Prevention Group till April 22, 2004, 121 were under 18. Sixty-seven of them were women.
Ninety-seven of 268 legal proceedings are at the trial stage.
In those 97 trials, a total of 383 police officers are being charged for torture and bad treatment.
