Ahmet Toru (20) has been killed by the gendarmerie for disobeying stop warning in Turkey’s southeastern province of Urfa.
The incident occurred in Koruklu Neighborhood on August 6, Sunday.
Doğan News Agency reported that the gendarmerie opened fire on Toru who disobeyed “stop” warning.
Being injured in his neck, Toru lost his life in Mehmet Akif İnan Education and Research Hospital where he was taken into for treatment.
As it is reported that the gendarmerie forces causing the death of Toru have been interrogated, Toru allege allegedly attempted to run away as he was a “draft dodger”, BirGün reported.
Of the local news websites Şanlıurfa 63, Urfanatik and Urfa Objektif reported the incident as traffic accident.
It was stated that Toru is the nephew of Urfa TV’s owner İbrahim Toru. (EKN/TK)
