13 persons who have lost their lives in the explosion in Dürümlü hamlet of Sarıkamış village in Sur district of Diyarbakır have been identified.
On May 12, four persons had lost their lives among whom one could not be identified, 12 persons were lost and 23 others injured in the explosion due to detonation of a bomb-laden car by YPS (Civil Protection Units).
The bodies of three persons who had lost their lives had been delivered to their families following the autopsy procedures on May 13 and had been laid to rest. The DNA confirmation and identification of the remaining 13 persons have been completed.
Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecution has announced in its statement that the five investigations it had launched into the incident were still ongoing.
The samples of the 13 bodies that have been identified have been sent to Diyarbakır.
HPG (People’s Defence Forces) in its statement following the incident has noted that the incident on last Thursday night ( May 12) had occurred due to “fire opened during the transportation of 15 tonnes of explosives”. (NV/DG)
