One soldier has been killed in the armed attack by Civil Protection Units (Yekineyen Parastina Sivil-YPS) within the operations run in Sur district of Diyarbakır under curfew.
The General Staff in its statement has noted that the soldier injured severely in the attack had been taken to the hospital yet has lost his life on 9.55 a.m. The name of the soldier has not been declared.
Also yesterday, two soldiers were killed in the clashes with the Civil Protection Units.
Curfews in Sur
The curfew declared in Cevatpaşa, Fatihpaşa, Dabanoğlu, Hasırlı, Cemal Yılmaz and Savaş neighbourhoods and Gazi street on December 2, 2015 had been lifted temporarily for 17 hours on December 11.

Curfew was declared in six additional neighbourhoods and one street on December 14, 2015.
Curfew in effect in Gazi street was lifted on December 30, 2015 and continued in Cevatpaşa, Fatihpaşa, Dabanoğlu, Hasırlı, Cemal Yılmaz and Savaş neighbourhoods.

On December 27, 2016 the sub-Governorship announced that curfew had been declared in Abdaldede, Alipaşa, Lalebey, Süleyman Nazif and Ziya Gökalp neighbourhoods and Melikahmet street in Sur.

Including the curfew declared in Camii Kebir, Camii Nebi, İskenderpaşa and Melikahmet neighbourhoods, entire district of Sur was under curfew as of February 3.

Curfew was lifted in Abdaldede, Alipaşa, Lalebey, Süleyman Nazif, Ziya Gökalp, Camii Kebir, Camii Nebi, İskenderpaşa ve Melikahmet neighbourhoods and continued in the remaining six neighbourhoods.
On February 9 curfew was declared to be in effect from the Çiftehan street entrance of Gazi street till Mardinkapı exit. (NV/DG)
